European Itineraries - ABC tourism

Work programe
Project promotion at the level of the school organisation and local community using reports and articles in mass media.
Building and launching the project’s web site - www.europeanitinaries.eu. Each school makes its own mascot, wich will travel in the other schools partners in the project. In each school involved in the project, contest for the children’ creations will be organised and the most representative mascot for the school, town or country will be chosen.
The jury will be 50% made of children, the other members can be teachers, journalists, representatives of local authorities and communities, etc..
The mascot has to have the sign of the country and eventually of the city from which the school is.
The Mascot will be in as many copies as the countries involved in the project, as a toy from recyclable materials and it will not be drawing. In the first project meeting, each school will bring its own mascot to be the “guest” of the host school, exposed in a place visible to all the school’s students for the entire period of the project. The mascot, sent to travel to the schools involved in the project, will be representative for each partner institution in the school and the symbol of friendship and cooperation. In particular, at every meeting of the project, each institution will host those symbols.

1.Knowing the partners
„Who are our partners?” - development of presentation materials of each partner schools and sending them for presentation.
"Imaginary travel on the map of Europe" (exhibition of photographs) with pictures of all countries involved in the project. The exhibition will be presented in an area with access to students, parents, teachers, and the local community. In order to organize this exhibition, each school will send e-mails to all the other partner institutions every 5-10 photos to capture aspects of local / area (tourism, people, vegetation, etc.).. The exhibition will be open to all schools on the same day, at the same time, which will be determined by mutual agreement between the partners. The photos will appear on the web site project.

2.Project meeting
In the project meeting to be held in Belgium in December 2009, will be organize and conduct the international seminar on "Current and future prospects of European Education”. Also, the school will organize a national drawing contest with the theme "My City in the future”, the members of the jury will be the delegations of partner’s schools.

3.Geography of the zone
Collection of data about geographical location of the place of each schools involved in the project. The geographical data will be presented in the form of PowerPoint presentations, but will be organized as to constitute a book page. Achievement in English translation by teams of students and teachers involved in the project.

4.Flora and fauna of the area
Collecting data on flora and fauna in the area of origin of each school. This information will be presented in the form of PowerPoint presentations, but will be organized to constitute a book page. Achievement in English translation by teams of students and teachers involved in the project.

5.Economy and Population
Collecting data on the economy and the population of origin zone of each school. This information will be presented in the form of PowerPoint presentations, but will be so organized as to constitute a book page. Achievement in English translation by teams of students and teachers involved in the project.

6.Holiday Itineraries
Correspondence and exchange of opinions between students, presentation of their own families, the way they spend holidays.

7.Education, culture, artistic heritage
Data collection, information and photos about local education and regionally artistic heritage (traditions, museums, etc.).This information will be presented in the form of PowerPoint presentations, but will be so organized as to constitute a book page. Achievement in English translation by teams of students and teachers involved in the project.

8.Objectives and landmarks
Data collection, information and photographs about the most important points of attraction in the city / region. This information will be presented in the form of PowerPoint presentations, but will be so organized as to constitute a book page.Achievement in English translation by teams of students and teachers involved in the project.

9.„Tourist’s language handbook” – little tourist-guide conversation with key words and phrases you need as a tourist. It will be translated into the languages of the countries involved in the project, in English and will be part of a tour guide, called "European Itineraries - ABC tourism”.

10.Presentation of the guide/ "European Itineraries - ABC tourism” at school, the local community, local government level and post it on the web site project.

11.The final evaluation of the project.
